We have added Christine Pintat's paper A Global Analysis: what has worked for women in politics and what has not, 1975-1998? from the Second Global Congress of Women in Politics. You can also reach this paper either from the Second Global Congress page, or from our Resources page.
28 Feb 2001
We have added the First Global Congress and the Second Global Congress of Women in Politics to our Activities page. The Congress pages include links to several papers from the Congresses. The Global Congress papers plus the Origins of CAPWIP page give an excellent account of the development of the Women in Politics movement, and we recommend them to you.
We have also updated many of our pages with extra links. This will, we believe, make it easier for you to find the wealth of materials on the site. For example, the several papers from the Asia-Pacific Women Parliamentarians' Conference on Transformative Leadership for Good Governance in the 21st Century, organized by CAPWIP and held on 24 - 25 March 2000, in Bangkok, Thailand, now appear on the Resources page as well as on the Conference pages.
26 Oct 2000
We are excited about our new Activities section. For some time we have realized that the site has not properly advertised the number and quality of the activities that CAPWIP has organized or supported over the years. So, we have started by adding pages describing the five Asia-Pacific Congresses of Women in Politics that have been held since 1994. These Congresses have been instrumental in forging the aspirations, goals and activities of CAPWIP, and continue to influence many women in the Asia-Pacific region.
Keep an eye on the Activities section, as we will be adding pages about the two Global Conferences, and other CAPWIP activities.
We have moved the link to the description of the Asia-Pacific Women Parliamentarians' Conference on Transformative Leadership for Good Governance in the 21st Century from the home page to the Activities page, and made numerous small changes to linkages between pages.

10 Feb 2000
The most pressing item in our revised Newsletter is the announcement of more details of CAPWIP's Asia-Pacific Women Parliamentarians' Conference on Transformative Leadership for Good Governance in the 21st Century will be held on 24-25 March 2000 in Bangkok, Thailand.
However, the Newsletter contains much more of interest, including the announcement of the Mongolian Democratic Socialist Women's Association (MDSWA) is the new sub-regional coordinating focal point for the CAPWIP network in Central Asia.
Please let us know if you think we need to make additions or changes.
